Industrial Arts

artist, author and designer for the stage…

Quiet moment to myself

Before the baptize begins again

Dowse her with water and scrub her down

Whether or not it produces a frown

I smile and laugh and try to make it fun

But she will have none of it

She merely wants me to be done

I say to wash your hair

Scrub your face and your chin

Clean up that ass and mop up your cheeks

So I can pull the plug

And we can all be through

With this ritual that is bath time

What is a parent to do?
