My novel, Waterboarded is done with editing and is available for purchase from Chipmunka Publishing.

I have been busy updating all my web sites, social media sites, etc. to promote my novel. It is a lot of work. Look for upcoming news on readings by me, specials and various video casts, audio pod casts and more.

More importantly, please support me and PURCHASE my novel!

Here is a synopsis of the book:

Waterboarded is the story of an American college student in New York City the summer after 9/11 attending the internship of his life. Unfortunately for him, the pain, confusion and madness of his life long battle with manic depression catches up with him erupting into a summer of debauchery and excess that ultimately leads to self destruction. Through the haze of drugs and illicit sex the young man tries to ultimately find his way out in the most unexpected manner. Will he move on and find hope or simply fall back into the mind numbing habits of his youth?

The long holiday weekend is over and it seems that the first business day back is turning out to be all business… My novel is done with editing and layout. I have been going over the advance copy they sent me. It is exciting to see my book as part of someone’s catalog… In the next couple of weeks I will be rolling out the marketing campaign for my book. For now, the suits in the back room are scribbling ideas down.

On a side note of absurdity, I went to the International Sheep Dog Competition this past weekend and watched Border Collies herd sheep. They were impressive dogs. It seemed a novel affair coming from my technology infused life to watch dogs being used as tools…

I have set aside some time to enter my poetry into some journal contests. I guess it is that time of year. I think the judges and editors of these things just like to give themselves something to do for the fall like read a bunch of poetry… but then the editors I know are usually working on a million different projects just like the rest of us, so I guess I’ll cut them a little slack…

Figuring out which poems to send off to a magazine is difficult. At times I wish I had an assistant who would sort through all my shit and pick out the good stuff and do all the leg work for me. I go back and read a lot of my poetry and wonder “What was I thinking?” but then if I say it is all crap then nothing gets submitted and nothing gets published, so I compromise with myself daily.

With that in mind I am happy to say that the manuscript for my first novel is at the publishers and is in the hands of their editing department… Exciting but scary all at the same time. Writing can be a personal endeavor and it leaves one feeling exposed when others get to read on something you have spent so much of your time on… I will post updates on this as it progresses.
